Antalya Aquarium and Düden Waterfall from Alanya: A Family Day in November

When the beach starts to feel a little cool and the children still want an adventure, Antalya makes an excellent day out. About 130 km along the coast from Alanya, it offers something for every age: a waterfall in a green park, a tunnel full of sharks and rays, and an old town of cobbled lanes. Our Aquarium, Antalya City and Düden Waterfall Tour links all three in a single relaxed day of around eight hours.

How the day unfolds

  • Düden Waterfall: the first stop, with about 30 minutes of free time. Look for the small cave behind the falls, which children usually love.
  • Tunnel aquarium: sharks, rays and colourful fish glide over your head while you walk beneath them.
  • Lunch: a welcome break in the middle of the day, included in the tour.
  • Kaleiçi: Ottoman houses, Hadrian's Gate and the old harbour, with an optional guided walk or time to explore alone.

Why it works so well in November

This is a good choice for changeable autumn weather, because a big part of the day is spent indoors at the aquarium. Late autumn is also a comfortable time to walk around Kaleiçi, as the old town is far less hot and crowded than in high summer. Rain can make the waterfall paths damp, so give yourself a moment to enjoy the falls with sensible shoes rather than rushing through.

What to bring

  • Comfortable walking shoes for all the family; the old town's cobbles and the park paths add up.
  • A light jacket and a small umbrella or rain layer.
  • A passport or ID for each traveller.
  • A small bag to protect your phone from the waterfall spray.
  • A little cash for drinks and souvenirs, since drinks are not included.

Tour or rental car?

The tour is the easy option: hotel pickup, a live guide, lunch and entrance fees are all arranged, and nobody has to drive. Guides speak Turkish, English, German and Russian. If you prefer your own pace, especially with small children who need extra breaks, a rental car in Alanya gives you that freedom. The drive along the D400 coastal road usually takes 2 to 2.5 hours each way, so start early and remember that you will pay for parking, tickets and meals yourself.

Current prices and availability are shown on the booking page. Check the forecast the evening before, and pack a snack for the ride home, because the children will probably fall asleep with one anyway.
